Transaction scope

RO e-Factura covers phased B2G, domestic B2B and B2C reporting obligations, with specific exclusions and treatment by transaction and taxpayer status.

Current deadline

B2C reporting became mandatory from 1 January 2025. From 1 January 2026, the submission deadline is five working days from issue, subject to the statutory latest-date rule; additional Romanian VAT-registered recipient scenarios also entered scope.

National system

Structured invoice data is transmitted through the national RO e-Factura environment. Submission and system responses must be tracked separately from customer delivery and accounting posting.
